Annuity Income Estimator
Explore how much lifetime monthly income a portion of your nest egg could buy, using published Canadian insurer quotes rather than an assumed investment return.
Turn part of your nest egg into income
These quotes use registered funds, such as RRSP/RRIF savings. Non-registered and prescribed annuity quotes may differ.
Only ages quoted by the publisher are offered; no age interpolation is used.
The publisher separates rates by sex used in insurer pricing. Confirm the appropriate underwriting basis with an advisor.
Both options pay for life. A 10-year guarantee adds beneficiary protection if death occurs during the first 10 years, subject to contract terms; it does not limit income to 10 years.

The publisher quotes monthly income for a $100,000 registered-funds premium, with payments commencing in one month. This estimator covers single-life, level-payment annuities only, with no minimum payment period or a 10-year guarantee. Estimates scale each published payment by your purchase premium ÷ $100,000. Actual prices may not scale proportionally because of premium bands, minimum purchases, expenses and insurer underwriting. Displayed values are rounded to cents; missing quotes are excluded from the range.
Published annuity pricing reflects market interest rates at the quote date as well as mortality assumptions and contract terms. No separate interest-rate adjustment is applied. Different purchase ages compare today’s snapshot at those ages, not a forecast of the rates available if you wait.
Registered annuity income is generally fully taxable and may affect OAS recovery tax and income-tested benefits. Figures here are gross, not after tax. Joint-life, survivor options, non-registered taxation and indexed annuities require separate quotes. Payments here do not rise with inflation, so their purchasing power can fall.
Buying an annuity generally gives up access to the purchase premium and is usually irreversible after any applicable cancellation period. Life-only payments normally stop at death with no remaining premium returned. A guaranteed period may provide remaining guaranteed payments or a settlement to beneficiaries according to the contract. The insurer’s ability to meet its obligations matters; protection limits and eligibility should be checked separately.
